Twitter is down, point for Jaiku
Twitter is down because a hacker DoS (denial-of-service) attack. Maybe it’s time for the Jaiku (the Google Twitter) counter-strike?

Life’s files
Earlier, in 90′s, you have some files to backup, 50, maybe 200 MB maximum. It’s easy. Record on CDs, Zip Disks, DVDs and so on. Until now.
Your life became more active, more online. Just more dynamic, hyperlinked. Without realyze, your life is beeing upload to the Internet. Hundreds, Thousands photos, videos. Profiles borns around the globe. Digital life is a need you never know that exists. Social websites fill this need. Your tastes, secrets and jobs leaves you mind, spreading through the world.
Your blog posts is what you think. His comments, what they think and how they interact. Your e-mails, your secrets. Gigabytes of information flying out there, and it is just your life. Everyone has a public life. Dot. Mails are not secrets to the mail server administrators, not foolish yourself. All your online photos it’s public, even the “private” ones. You are public now. What matter is, what the size of YOUR life? Some dozens of MB? Or some hundreds of GB? How many information you have on your computer? What happens if you lost all of it? Your main storage media maybe has all what you have online plus much more! Think what you do not have online, exclude the videos, the musics, the games. Probably will remais just a few GBs. And THAT must be save forever, exatly as you do with your digital life until now, but in a more specific way.
Backuping you on DVDs is good, but not fully safe. You can lost the media, or it can deteriorate and not work anymore. The solution is to choose a free online backup service, on a traditional company like iDrive or Microsoft. They have excellent backup services where you can save your life in case of disasters, like the lost of all your work.
Think that.
